Max Van Wyck is a Canadian baritone, originally from Vancouver, bringing commanding presence and engaging performances to the operatic and concert stages in Europe and N. America.

During the 2024-2025 season, Max debuted the roles of The Count in Le nozze di Figaro with Buffalo Unlimited Opera, Mercutio in Romeo et Juliette with Bel Cantanti, and Morales in Carmen with Theater Aachen. He reprised the roles of Schaunard in La Bohème with the Opera Company of Middlebury and Dancaïro in Lighthouse Opera’s Carmen.

The 2022-2023 season found him returning to the German opera stages as the L’Imperial Commissario in Eutin Festspiele’s Madama Butterfly, St. Brioche in Die Lustige Witwe with Wuppertal Bühnen, then as Cascada in Die Lustige Witwe with Theater Bonn.

Mr. Van Wyck spent the 2021-2022 season debuting his artistry in Europe, performing with Theater Aachen as Cascada in Die Lustige Witwe, Morales in Carmen, and Ping in Turandot. He also performed as St. Brioche in Theater Heidelberg’s Die Lustige Witwe.

Operatic contracts in 2020 which were postponed and cancelled included Prinz Alo-Dino in a the new opera Nachtigall Tausendtriller with Theater Plauen, Einen Edlen in Lohengrin, and Cascada in Die Lustige Witwe, with Theater Zwickau.  

Prior to COVID scheduling alterations, Max performed as Baron Douphol in La Traviata with L’Opéra du Québec.

In 2017 and 2018 Max was pleased to perform Gregorio in Romeo et Juliette with L'Opéra de Montréal, The Sacristan in Tosca with Opera on the Avalon, Papageno in The Magic Flute with Brott Opera, Marcello in La Bohéme with Highlands Opera, and again with L'Opéra de Montréal as Marullo in Rigoletto.
